We Sharadchandra Pawar College of Engineering conducted a Two days’ Workshop on “Computer Hardware & Networking” during 1^st & 2^nd March 2017 sponsored by Board of Student’s Welfare, SPPU, Pune.

The objective of this workshop was to acquaint the participants with the basic principles, developments and research trends in the area of Computer Hardware & Networking. The workshop has covered the perfect combination of theory and practical sessions in the well balanced manner. This workshop will certainly help students to improve technical skill set and hence employability, and the engineering faculty members to improve teaching methodology and efficiency. 66 participants have actively participated with lots of zeal and enthusiasm. The entire workshop was conducted in a systematic manner.

All the faculty and staff members actively participated in the event to make it a grand success.

About Workshop: It gives an opportunity for participants from academic institution to understand state-of-the-art in network protocols, architectures, and applications. To provide students with a theoretical and practical base in computer networks issues, to define the basic terminology of computer networks, to recognize the individual components of the big picture of computer networks, to Outline the basic network configurations, to list the layers of the TCP/IP and OSI model and describe the duties of each layer, to understand the transmission methods underlying LAN and WAN technologies.

Day 1

1. Introduction to hardware material motherboard, SMPS, RAM, Hard disk etc.
2. Different Hardware problems due to motherboard SMPS, RAM, Hard disk etc.
3. Troubleshooting of different hardware problems occurs due to motherboard SMPS, RAM & Hard disk etc.
4. Installation of windows operating system.
5. Troubleshooting of windows operating system.
6. Installation of Linux operating system.
7. Troubleshooting of Linux operating system.
8. Questions & answers on hardware OS.

Day 2

1. Introduction to the networking.
2. Introduction to the networking access devices like LAN card, wireless router, router, Switch, Bluetooth etc.
3. Introduction to cat cable & Crippling, making cross cable & straight cable.
4. Introduction to topology, layer structure, layer structure simulation by video.
5. Making LAN & WAN Network.
6. Router configuration.
7. Peer to Peer network & Server – Client configuration.
8. Installation of windows server & active directory.
9. Active directory management & user authentication.
10. Client connection.
11. Telnet, DHCP , Protocol, remote desktop services etc.
