The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Committee is established in the institute to promote the welfare and safeguard the interests of students belonging to reserved categories. The committee aims to provide support in areas where such students may face difficulties and to ensure a fair and inclusive academic environment.
As per the guidelines of All India Council for Technical Education, the institute has constituted the SC/ST Committee. The committee functions in accordance with the provisions of the
Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The primary objective of this Act is to prevent offences and atrocities against members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, to provide special courts for the trial of such offences, and to ensure relief and rehabilitation of the victims.
