GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Strategic Plan

The perspective-strategic plan is made by institution which is in-line with mission 2025 of SPCOE “To be the Most Admired Academic Institutions in India”. By delivering outstanding education to generate technically competent Engineers to serve the country, the prospective strategic plan meets the needs of industry and society.

For strategic planning and resource management, the Institute utilizes a four-tier organization. The Board of Trustees (SGMSPM), the Board of Governors (BoG), the Director, and Teaching and Non-teaching members make up this group. In cooperation with numerous Institute stakeholders, the authority conducts need analysis as part of its support system for various programmes and policies. The Director creates a path for communication and information sharing among interested parties. In conformity with the necessity for a comprehensive education system and in light of the Institute’s responsibility in providing excellent higher education to the current generation, the Institute has its own set of Strategic Plans that change from time to time.

The Strategic Plan is phased at three levels:

  • Improving the teaching/learning experience in the campus
  • Strengthening the academic and research domains of the
  • Focus on renewable energy by introducing Solar Power Plant.

Academic excellence, research excellence, and training and placement excellence will all contribute to the institution becoming a Centre of Excellence, which is the Strategic Plan’s ultimate aim. In order to achieve this aim, the Institute has put in place a dedicated academic and administrative community that is focused on catapulting the 14-year-old institution to a top-tier position in Pune Ruler.

The priorities of the Strategic Plan are:

Changing the teaching/learning environment on campus by

Ø Setting up Centres of Excellence

Ø In-house ICT enabled Learning Management System

Strengthening the academic and research domains of the Institute through

Ø Encourage the faculty members and the students for collaborative research through the established R & D Cell

Ø To secure intellectual property right for knowledgeable faculty members and highly talented pool of students to identify, facilitate and develop innovation through the IPR Cell

Increasing the skills of the students

  • Transforming the teaching/learning experience; The College conducts various interactive talks – sessions, seminars, workshops, awareness programmes, special lecture on quality innovations, Curricula enrichment, Teaching-Learning with topics of interdisciplinary nature on regular basis.
  • Strengthening the training process conducted in-house or through external agency.

Introduce Solar Power Plants to focus on green energy

  • Installation of Solar Power Plant to maintain the eco-friendly environment of the campus since solar power generation has several advantages over other forms of electricity generation.

These targets have been set up on the basis of extensive discussion with all stakeholders like management, students, staff members, alumni and the industry.

The entire college is also striving hard to work as a unit to achieve the stated goals with the vision for a sustainable excellence and a practical understanding of the ground realities.

The Governing Body (SPCOE President and Managing Council), SPCOE Principal, Heads of Departments, Teaching staff, Non-teaching personnel, and Support cells/Departments are the essential components of the college’s organizational structure. It examines the institutional strategic plan, which establishes the institution’s academic goals and objectives as well as its financial and recruiting tactics. Several stakeholders of the institute are members of the institution’s various committees. The methods for making decisions are made at the appropriate levels of the organizational structure.

IQAC Cell, Anti-ragging Cell, and other university/government norms are also in existence for the institution. The academic and administrative leadership of the school is provided by a number of committees with well-defined duties. The planning, execution, academic audit, and assessment are all handled by a committee made up of administrative employees and faculty members. Through independent flexibility for departments and a participatory decision-making process, an optimal amount of decentralization is achieved. Recruitment process is in accordance with norms of the university. Regular student feedback on improving quality of Teaching and Learning process are taken twice in year for timely corrections.

This feedback is analyzed and discussed with concerned faculty in the presence of Head of the Department and Principal.
